You probably have had a discussion with someone that is all over the place with his ideals and points of view. It appears like his ideals and points of view change depending on the circumstances. It is very frustrating, isn’t it? Usually, the conversation doesn’t go anywhere in in a setting like this.
In the opposite spectrum, it is so enjoyable having a conversation with someone that is consistent with his principles and ideals. It doesn’t matter that your positions are in opposite directions. One thing for sure, respect is part of the interaction when there is consistency in both parts. In fact, consistency makes human interaction easier.
Consistency is such a great quality to have. If you are consistent with your principles, people will know what to expect from you, regardless of whether they agree with you or not. People respect that - even if they believe differently.
Needless to say how important consistency is as a quality in our leaders.
